CC MENA welcomes Host Operator, Nedaa

Founded in 2008, Nedaa, the Dubai Government security networks provider, has been leading the way in the use of private LTE networks by mission-critical personnel (such as the use of video streaming from police cars), thanks in part to the UAE’s Telecoms Regulatory Authority’s decision back in 2013 to assign 10 by 10 MHz in the 700 MHz band, together with additional assignments for DMO and air-to-ground operation, to public safety LTE services.

All the CC MENA latest exhibitor news

One of the biggest events to occur between Critical Communications World and CC MENA, was the second ETSI MCPTT PlugTests event, which saw 31 vendors complete more than 2,000 tests (based on a test plan with more than 100 test cases), across more than 300 combinations of vendors and equipment with a 92 per cent success rate. The PlugTests events are a key part of the work being done to create an interoperable and standardised LTE-based ecosystem for mission-critical users.

TCCA study outlines security policies required for TETRA-LTE interworking

As commercial LTE/4G networks become an increasingly common support partner to secure TETRA networks, the communications link between the two bearers is now a critical focus. A new study from TCCA’s Security and Fraud Prevention Group (SFPG) highlights the need for robust processes and best practice to ensure there are no weaknesses in the interworking mechanism that could be exploited by those with malicious intent.
