Our specifications aim to maximise the compatibility of new radio and core network features with legacy 3GPP infrastructure and equipment. The LTE (4G) and 5G ecosystems are providing a sustainable pathway for mission critical & public safety use cases to evolve and take full advantage of futuristic 6G networks, now being studied in 3GPP and due on the market by the mid-2030s - www.3gpp.org
Standards for Public Safety & Critical Communications: Communications as Critical Infrastructure is being supported by ETSI and 3GPP systems’ specification and testing work across diverse ICTs, including TETRA, PMR/DMR, NG112, EMC & spectrum planning, Security & Privacy aspects, LTE, 5G-Advanced, MCX, Transport (V2X/ITS, GSM-R to Future Rail, Maritime), NTNs …towards future 6G standards for everything-to-everything.
