Bittium builds relationship with Estonian land forces

Bittium is supplying tactical communications technology to the Estonian military.

Products provided include the company’s Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WIN), its Tough Comnode devices, as well as devices from its Tough VoIP family of products.

Speaking of the contract, a spokesperson for Bittium said: “The deliveries are based on a framework agreement between our Estonian partner Telegrupp AS, and the Estonian [military authorities]. This covers the period from 2021 to 2025, and Bittium has received the first purchase orders, valued approximately at EUR 1.4 million.

“The Estonian land forces are aiming to improve IP data transfer capability. Bittium’s tactical communications system modernises [this], improving the performance of the network, as well as diversifying wireless and wired connectivity of the system.”

Other solutions rolled out to the Estonian defence forces by the company include a tactical network management system, battery units, as well as software maintenance products.
