Jomtel supplying TETRA to Mexico City police force

6/9/2020

Police in the Mexican capital are rolling out Sepura SC20 and STP9200 radios.

According to the company, officers will be using the TETRA devices from December of this year. They will be deployed in a variety of operations including general police work, customs checks, border patrols and city security. Mexico City has a total police force of around 46,000.

The radios – alongside a support and maintenance package – were delivered by Sepura’s partner in Mexico Jomtel.

Speaking of the roll-out, Jomtel commercial director Jorge Morera said: "As Sepura channel partner, we are delighted to continue to deliver advanced TETRA products to Mexico. This is the first TETRA radio solution deployed by Mexico City Police, [and is] proof of the continuing demand for the proven technology. We have no doubt that the Sepura radios will expand the capabilities of the police teams in their mission-critical operations.”

Tim Mills, Sepura sales director for South America, said: “There is significant potential in Mexico to continue to develop the TETRA business for municipalities and other police organisations. We look forward to working with Jomtel to assist further forces to implement Sepura TETRA solutions.”
