Cradlepoint and Netmotion alliance benefits first responders

NetMotion and Cradlepoint have formed a ‘technology alliance’, allowing both companies’ public safety customers access to their products.

Cradlepoint specialises in cloud-based wireless edge networks, while NetMotion offers a “full suite of mobile connectivity, analytics and operational intelligence solutions.” Together they provide “an optimised, always-on platform with enhanced features that gives end users rapid, seamless transitions between available WiFi and cellular networks, unique data compression, optimisation and more.”

One organisation which is currently using products provided by both companies is the Metropolitan Police Service in London.

Speaking of this, Adrian Hutchinson, superintendent, mobile technology for the Met said: “We can’t afford to compromise when it comes to public safety. That’s why we’ve invested in solutions from Cradlepoint and NetMotion that ensure fast, efficient, reliable and secure communications with our officers at critical times.”

Donna Johnson, vice president of product and solutions marketing at Cradlepoint said: “Perhaps no other mobile workforce is more dependent on fast, resilient and secure wireless connectivity for their productivity and safety than first responders. This is the catalyst behind our alliance with NetMotion.

“Together, we are providing integration and interoperability between our network services so that first responders have a mission-critical in-vehicle network they can rely on.”

According to a joint statement a majority of first responders in North America have already deployed solutions provided by the companies. Other client groups also include those working in the transport, healthcare and utilities sectors.
