According to the company, it supplied over around 100 devices, including DMR PD708 hand-helds, MD788 mobile radios and RD628 repeaters. These were distributed to event personnel including scorers, referees, course operations staff, security guards, catering staff, and volunteers.
 
Speaking of the roll-out, sales manager of Hytera in Hong Kong Jeff Lau said: “It is the second consecutive year for Hytera to join hands with the Hong Kong Open. We continue to focus on ensuring communication safety and efficient dispatch for the prestigious tournament.
 
“Having reliable radio communications improves teamwork [via] the ability to communicate seamlessly throughout the tournament. It enables the players to concentrate on their performance and enjoy a trouble free visit.”
 
The Hong Kong Open includes a field of 120 top-ranked players, competing for a one million dollar prize.
