According to a statement by the company the technology will “enable secure and reliable mission-critical communications across the entire site.” It will be used by a variety of personnel, including airline staff, ramp agents, baggage handlers and service personnel.

Speaking of the deployment, regional vice president Europe at Motorola Solutions, Michael Kaae said:“Our DIMETRA X Core technology is an ideal solution for updating and expanding existing TETRA infrastructure at crucial hubs and transfer points such as airports.
 
“With the system, we refresh and expand the coverage of the installed equipment and ensure that [airport operator] Aena has a leading, powerful technology at its disposal to meet latest requirements, including software for air navigation and the latest cyber security standards.”
