- Session: Standards, Regulation and Spectrum
TCCA's Legal and Regulatory Working Group (LRWG) looks at legal and regulatory issues arising from going to mission critical broadband communications.
As we as a community has succeed with getting our requirements into the 3GPP standard, we have promising products and services in place, we see that the legal and regulatory landscape is lagging behind. The future mission critical networks will to a large degree rely on commercial mobile networks. But unlike for emergency communications, there is no common regulation for electronic services that take this situation into account.
- What is the problem?
- Do we need a common European regulations?
- Is EUCCS the answer?
- What about the rest of the world, do we need global harmonizations?
- What do ITU think?
- Is PPDR the forgotten sector because we always used to have dedicated networks?
- What other regulations should this sector look out for?

- Session: Cross Sector Learning Together Across The Mission Critical Verticals
Critical Communications is increasingly considered as a single vertical sector. But while there are many similarities, there also significant differences.
As colleagues, we must understand where we can push together to achieve our objectives, and how we can help one-another, even when our requirements differ. This is increasingly important in international bodies such as 3GPP and ITU where those who shout the loudest get heard, and the rest get squeezed out.
