Security has been one of key aspect of Mission Critical Communications Technologies and one of main distinctive characteristics of such technologies as TETRA. This is posing important requirement for new generation Mission Critical networks that incorporate broadband. Beside technological aspect, that may be addressed by standard committees and sector organization the way MCC networks are likely to be implemented (with a mixture of private and public infrastructure) is adding complexity to the problem. In addition new virtualization technologies are adding opportunities for cyber attackers. There is a need of a comprehensive security approach that start from design and extend to proactive monitoring and knowledge sharing among stakeholder in order to prevent and anticipate threats.
